SEARS GAMEFISHER 7.5 HP

I cannot start my outboard, gas is in the cylinder but the plug is clean ( new plug).<br />No one seems to know what to do or touch it.<br />Is ther a magneto or points and can I do it myself? Model 217 586752; serial 58015283<br />dwco

Since we don't know the year of the beast you could try pulling the flywheel off or just trick a friend into holding on to a wire and givethe rope a pull. If he hollers then try sticking a drop of gas in the plug hope and see if it will pop. Got to have three things to make it go Gas, compression and spark. If one is missing you have to find out where the one is missing.

I have one, mod number is slightly different but is uses a solid state magneto..no points. Plug the plug into the wire and hold the metal part against the block and pull the engine through if you have spark you should see it.

I have a 7.5 HP Gamefisher - Don't know the year. Model # 217-585931
SN 9A-298582 - My friend gave it to me. I thought it was locked up but I worked with it and got it to turn freely. Took the plug out and cleaned it - Shot some startere fluid in it and WOW. It's gonna run.

Hi there MrCrabs and everyone. I'm new to boats and motors, and this forum. Just picked up a gamefisher 7.5 with the same model number. Also got a 3.0 gamefisher from the same guy. Would you be so kind as to send me the same pdf manual? I've never worked on a motor before, so this will be a curious adventure for me.

Hey If you need any help, just make a seperate thread and ill help you if you would like help. I have a extremly similar motor to that.
