Re: Sears gamefisher will not shift into forward position
Ya, I was not clear as to what I ment by no shift. I can move the shift lever to N and get free movement on prop. Pulling on starting rope will engage starter. Can move shift lever to R and get prop engaged. Goes in with a snap. When trying to shift into F, it will not go. No snap, movement is slight and prop not engaged. I've visually tracked the linkage and see no problems. I am doing all of this with motor not running. I've tried moving the prop. Assume the shear pin is ok, as I get engagement in R. and free wheeling in N. Have ordered manual which may help if it has scematic so I can trace parts relationships. Something is in place that prevents the shift lever from moving fully forward thus preventing it from snaping into place and allowing the prop to engage and the throttle to advance to wide open position.
Thanks for your information. Further insights would be appreciated. I will put it on a lake near me today to seeif it starts and runs---and maybe shifts.HA.
