Sears outboard identification

I bought this motor along with a small boat. It has no id tags on it anywhere. It did have a tag on the tiller handle. It is a twin cylinder liquid cooled. I am assuming between 9 and 15 horse. I am wondering if it would be an Elgin motor or is it an Eska? I need to get a recoil starter spring for it. Any other help identifying it would be appreciated.

Re: Sears outboard identification

Thank You
I will take some pictures tonight under the hood. I have looked at thousands of pictures trying to find one like it,with no luck. It runs great just the recoil spring is broke and it has two different spark plugs in it and I want to replace them.

Here are the under the hood pictures and one of the stater recoil. I have it off right now. It would be great to finally figure out what it is. I feel kind of helpless not knowing.

Re: Sears outboard identification

So it seems like I have a mystery motor. Do you have any suggestions on getting that spring for the recoil. it looked similar to a 70s johnson recoil. Thank you for the help. I don't know much about these motors at all.

Re: Sears outboard identification

I wouldn't call it a mystery motor, I pretty sure its a west bend but Better pics of the motor and whole outboard leg and all will nail it down, I can tell that the flywheel is a dead ringer for a Chrysler/West Bend so you should be able to find a recoil, I would say ebay would be the best bet since theres lots of these motors being parted out.

Re: Sears outboard identification

I will take some better pictures tonight. Its in my garage and the lighting is not that great and I have been taking them with my phone. I will use one of my wife's cameras. She is a photographer, I will just have to modify them to reduce the image size. Thank you again i really appreciate your time and help.

These are some better pictures. Seems as though if it is a chrysler parts are going to be hard to find.
