I'm looking seriously at a 1997 Seaswirl 1850 Fish and Ski Dual console model.

Does anyone know anything about Seaswirl - and especially this particular boat?

Thanks

Hi,

I've got a '96 Seaswirl 201 Bowrider that I've been very happy with. I bought it used, but in very good shape. Seems to be well made and pretty well thought out.

A co-worker has a '97 18' footer, with a somewhat 'newer' looking shape and more swoopy (if this is a word) styling on the interior. His has a odd issue, in the that fuel tank vent fitting was positioned at the same elevation as the bilge pump outlet (different sides of the boat). This caused a lot of problems with water in the fuel, due to waves driving water into the vent (presumably). Adding a longer vent hose with a loop in it helped a lot.

I've been told that they've moved the factory to the midwest, they were a 'local' builder here in Oregon for a lot of years. The older boats were built very well.

Later,

Thanks so much for your reply. Very helpful to have an opinion other than my own - which I have discovered over the years is not always the best one.
