Seat Cover Ideas?

So was out in the Mirrocraft last week. Finally got the Fastwin sorted out. She's making good power, but almost too much. I threw her into a fairly tight turn and slid all the way across the bench! Totally unexpected. There are remnants of some old material on the benches, but they're basically bare aluminum now. I see a lot of guys mount seats right on top, but thinking I'd like to keep the low seating. Just want to cover them somehow. I just don't know how or what to use. Guess I could use 3M spray adhesive and apply some sort of vinyl, but was wondering if any of you guys know a better fix.

Hah.....fond memories for me, had the same boat and motor when I was 16-17 yrs old. Had a blast with it, even pulled a skier and me on a kneeboard type toy. Yep that ole 18hp was plenty of power. And I also remember sliding on the seats, mine had a vinyl covering made to look like wood, but still slick when moving quickly. Thanks for the video, great memories for me !!!

I had a Starcraft Seafarer and it was the deluxe model. The deck and seats were covered with MARIDECK. Only the bow seat was bare aluminum and there was no bow floor.

I bought a few yards of the same color to do some custom work. Then I covered the bow seat as well, and added a plywood bow floor. Never had a problem with slippage, either my butt or my feet.

I found some snap down marine cushions on Amazon to cover the seats on my Seafarer.

Wow, those are both good ideas. Both turned out nice too. Thanks for posting these. I was out last week for maybe the last time this year and once again I was bothered by how if I didn't brace myself, I was all over the seat. Felt like I was on a Tilta-Whirl. Would you have a link to those Amazon covers TriBull? Oh and hey Jim, did you apply the material directly to the aluminum or did you wrap it around some wood maybe? How did you tuck the edges so neatly?

Years back a friend of mine made upholstry for old car rebuilders as his hobby. He made a set of seat cushions for a guys boat, similiar to those posted on here, he added a flap about 3" along the long side with snaps to snap the covers onto those tank seats. Easy to make and easy on the butt and a naterial can be used that isnt slippery. Lots of those hobby guys out there looking to make some extra cash on the side..

Mine were about $50 per bench seat. Easy to install and very durable! Note: they ship with a protective plastic wrap around the foam inside. It needs to be removed so that you don’t get a “crinkle” sound while sitting on them. I’m very pleased with them…
