Seat Extension

I am new to boating, first of all. I have a 1999 Horizon 170 and the passenger seat sits right on the floor and the wife hates it. I pulled the seat up and it looks the the seat and the mount has an inside diameter of 2 3/8. Is there some generic 10-12 inch extension I can buy. I tried looking at Amazon and some other place but I was unsure of the questions there asking to know if it would fit properly. They are OEM seats and mounts in great condition so I really don't want to replace the whole mount if I don't have to.

I don't think there is a store-bought item you are looking for.

I had a similar issue with aft seats years ago. I built a base out of 3/8" plywood and mounted it to the floor with pop rivets and angle brackets. The oem seat mounted easily on top. I covered the wood with vinyl from Joanne Fabrics that was a close enough color.

It met all my requirements and was a happy rainy afternoon project besides.

exactly, there is a piece on both ends that is about 2 3/8 ID and the sleeve is about 4 inches deep. I was thinking could could buy pedestal insert but was unsure of what to buy. I will post a pic of it later today. Thanks!!!

Identify what you have (may have to remove the mount from the seat). Then we go from there.
