The https://www.swivleze.com/ site has been down and I have been looking to get edumacated on how to buy the right base/post combination for my needs. I went to bass pro but they knew squat (sorry bp), I had some concerns:

-I saw round/raised ones and square flat/flusher ones. What is the difference?
-I want the pedestal base to take a seat and a planar mast.
-I saw manual height adjustment...I think I don't need hydraulic

can someone point me in the right direction?

thanks,
mike

Welcome to iboats!

My browser reports that website to be untrusted.

What kind of boat do you have, and what is the construction of the cockpit sole (a.k.a. "deck")?

Re: seat post install FAQ?

It is a basic aluminum with 3/4" plywood bench seats that are supported by 2 wall to wall aluminum (or steel?) sheets. Almost the same boat as this guy http://www.correllconcepts.com/boat_conversion.htm

I could just copy this guy but am unsure.
I heard the screw ins are less wobbly.
