I have a 16' Seaark which is cramped for space. I was wondering if someone makes a seat I can use to navagate the boat, then use it to fish out of on a pedestal. Same with the other (passenger) seat. Use it while under way, then place it on a pedestal to fish out of. This would allow more room is the rear of the boat while fishing.

Thanks

I certainly have a table that is designed to be removed. Only the base of the pedestal remains on the deck when the table is stowed. It seems this is a question about seat pedestals that might have similar capability?

BrainNJ, in a way it is. I'm looking for a seat I can use in two places. One while driving the boat then remove it and put it on a pedestal to fish with.

The problem is the Helm seat is required to take heavy loads (150+ lbs Sideways) and not budge.
Most seats that are movable are only to be used at under 5mph and have lightweight pedestals.

EXACTLY what seat mount is on the helm seat? 2-3/8, 2-7/8, Other?
It could be possible to make an adapter to allow the seat to be put on 3/4 pin Pedestal. ;)

Eureka! Surprisingly HERE is a movable system that IS rated for the Helm position. :D

On my boat the only seat that is permanently mounted is the driver seat others are just lose and sit on the deck so we can do what you are talking about, when we get to the fishing hole they can be put anywhere on the deck you would like.

I had pedestals at one time but found they just got in the way so I jerked them, in the end it is your boat and you can do whatever you want with it.

They do make seat bases with pedestals, you can have as many bases as you want and just move the seats in between the mounts, how that works on your boat is up to you.
