My pump is leaking water everywhere and I need to replace it. The genuine Mercruiser parts are stupid-expensive at about $800. Has anyone used one from Ebay or Amazon? There are many available for about +/-$320. Am I crazy to consider this? The one's on Amazon don't have any reviews and the one's on EBay have numerous good reviews. I just don't like buying on Ebay any more.

The one on EBAY should be fine but note it says "remanufactured", this is someones old pump that they rebuilt. The issue will be is how well did they do it. It's not hard but still is an issue. I would want to see pics of the inside of pump and wear plate

Don't know if this can be done "easy" but I would try to figure out if your style could be changed out for the Gen 2 style. Then you can use the cheaper composite pumps for about $100 each

I saw the 'reman' one on ebay and was not even considering that one. I think I have more trust in a new product by an unknown than a rebuilt by an unknown. You don't know how they might have hacked it apart or slammed it together. Not to mention, even the paint looks like crap plus you have to ship them back your core. Just makes me leary. If i buy a new one from anyone, then I will have my old one to rebuild at my leisure if I decide to. I know I will do it right...if I take the time to do it. RIght now, I just want my boat back up and running ASAP.

On THT site I mentioned about we don't know your serial number, and you don't need the whole pump assy, just the housing which is less 8M0139984
