I am going to drop boat in the water today hoping that being in the water i'll get a better idle than on the muffs. If not ,are there idle ajuster screws on carbs that can be slighty tweaked if needed.

Thanks John

You cannot set idle on muffs. Idle needs to be set on the water, in gear, unrestrained, with the engine warmed up. Or better in a test tank with a test wheel.

The carburetors are all fixed jets and not adjustable; they do have to be synchronized and you need a service manual.

From my experience, if it won't idle in the driveway it won't idle in the water.

Don't know your motor but here should be an adjustment screw somewhere in the throttle linkage that will give you a small amount of adjustment, it is like applying a very small amount of throttle and timing advance.

Normally all putting a motor in the water does is slow the idle down because of increased back pressure.
