secondary won't open

having problem getting my secondary to open up on my carbs. i have a 4 barrel zenith carb if the motor not running and i open the throttle you can seec the secondary open. if i'm running the motor the secondary will not open any idea thanks berto oh by the way its a 350 chevy motor

re check the make of the carb , I have never heard of a zenith 4 barrel, especialy on a chev, usually an import single or 2 barrel

You'll never see the secondary plates opening by a reving the engine, unless the secondary linkage is mechanical seen only on race engines, vacuum actuated secondaries open when the engine is fully loaded and manifold vacuum is at it's highest you can't duplicate it by simply reving the motor in neutral. If you could somehow scope it out with the boat in the water and engine loaded up full throttle then you would see them open.
