A few years ago a friend and his father took myself and another friend fishing on Cape Cod Bay. After a day of pulling in stripers and blues we headed back to the ramp. Dad driving at full speed made for a bumpy ride. I sat down on the seat in back. The anchor was sitting on the bow not tied down. Well the anchor work it's way across the bow, slid off the side, hit the water, bounced off the water, swung into the air then enbedded itself into the seat right next to me about 6" away. Scared the heck out of me. All my friends where horrified. Dad just kept going full speed, never apologized, never even acknolaged that it happened. Still have nightmares about it.

The big question is have you gone fishing again with the same person at the helm???

Re: Secure the anchor

No way!!!!! I still start shaking when I think about it. I always check for loose items when I go on a boat.
