See Star steering and motor tilted up

I have a Sylvan pontoon with a Honda 150 that sits in the middle of a tow rope frame. You have to make sure the motor is near center when you raise it. Kids forgot. They scraped the motor case pretty good on the tow frame. My question is could that have damaged the See Star steering or maybe caused a leak? Seems to work. But now when you raise the motor with the trim now with the motor centered, it will eventually fall over to the side where it was raised improperly.
