Good afternoon everyone. I am having a problem and i'm getting close to cussing. I wrote earlier about a fuel problem and got good answers. I cut the pick up tube off so about an inch above bottom i relocated the pump ball and it all seems to be better and actually boat got a little more rpms so that great. New problem is pump ball does not go flat and fuel is flowing no air bubbles but I will be going along and then it drops to 3500rpms and all the sudden jump back up then down and remain down. When I get back to the house and check all coils are firing and spark is good. I tried turning off wait a bit and turning back on hoping to clear SLOW to know avail. Compression is good 90+/-2 on all 6 cylinders. I thought just to change coils that possibly after running they may short out. I checked temp and its really good. I was having a fuel problem earlier and with the advise I got that part cleared up. Any Ideas. Motor is E200TXECM 1998.

I am open to all ideas.
Thanks for all the help. More information if needs

How is the fuel pump? Is it pumping to full potential?

I was just thinking about fuel pump. I tested after reading your response and I will pressure test tomorrow but I did test a couple I have in garage and found 2 that work properly. Before changing though I will test. Yeah I have a couple orso of fuel pumps pick them up when I can for 30dollars or less. Gonna order some rebuilds this week. thanks for something to look at

When the RPMs drop if you squeeze the primer bulb and the RPMs pickup that will indicate an issue with the fuel pump. I would also check all of your electrical connections, a loose connection or one of the kill wires grounding out can also cause intermittent behavior that you describe.

Bulb this time stayed pretty solid and when you could it made no change. Thanks. Did remove the coils and foun #3 and # 5 coil with the insulation on bottom cracked. Thinking as it heats up think that these 2 coils are grounding out.
