Seized Lower Shift Cable Nut

Need some ideas. When I started to remove the lower shift cable nut on my MC-1 outdrive the nut facets rounded over. So I drilled the center out and used some heat on the casting. No luck. The nut split. I'm stumped. Any ideas? Really hard to get into the cavity to work.

Easy out might work but luck and some prayers might help as well...

Take it off ( bellhousing) if you can do the work great otherwise Take it to a machine shop. Use an end mill to cut it flush, drill out and retap it.

This thing got out my rounded seized cable nut and more recently 2 rounded flywheel bolts. I didn't think it had a chance in either case
