Today I pulled my Volvo penta 275 outdrive because it wasn’t turning or going into gear. The boat has been sitting for about 5 years and both the bellows were rotted and holding some water. It is seized up good and I suspect it’s just rust that’s holding things up. Is it possible to tear down an outdrive to the point of removing internals and removing all rust? Or is this a waste of time and I should just buy another. They’re very pricey so I’d like to avoid spending so much money.
