Seized Shift Cable?

I'm still stuck in the same positon. Pun Intended. The shifter/throttle lever will not move the shift cable that goes to the motor. The shifter/throttle lever only moves the throttle cable. I manually pulled on the shift cable and it didn't budge; won't budge. Any ideas as to what I might do to get this functioning so I can put the outdrive back on and move one step closer to getting her back on the water?

Disconnect the shift cable from the shifter and see if the shifter then works. If it does, replace the cable.

If I point a loaded gun at my foot and pull the trigger, will it make a hole in my foot?

That picture is of no help. If you disconnet the cable from the control, does the control work as it's supposed to?

Re: Seized Shift Cable?

Haven't disconnected it yet Don, won't be able to get to it until tomorrow. I will do so then let you know. I was asking about the shifter/throttle control for general purpose, the video of me taking it apart has been corrupted and I'm not sure how to position it when putting it back together, even after I figure out the issue with the shift cable. I will get back with you tomorrow about the cable and go from there. Thanks a million.
