if i remember correctly the boating docks are on the opposite side of the highway from the ocean camp sites at Jonathan Dickenson. more than walking distance. i do not like the idea of my boat dock in an unsecure area, over nite.

And it will be good meeting you and the Mrs as well. I will have my salt-a-way attachment with me, so the Johnson can get a good washdown and remain salt freel, don't worry! Just make sure the trailer has had a thorough going over. Tire pressure is important as well.
Looks as if you may be getting the long distance award...

Being the fresh water guy I do not even know what a salt away attachment is but thank you for the offer to use it. Trailer gets a full service every season and i always carry 2 spares if going more than a few miles. I will have 2 new tires on the trailer at the start of next season in preparation. Spare hub with me and my usual "way more than enough" tools with me along with my box of spare all kinds of things. I will most likely be towing with our company Dodge ram truck as it is a "business trip" I will be on.

Don't forget to pull the hubs, check and pack the wheel bearings, tire pressure up and just come on down.

Full trailer service will be done.

Maybe it's possible to talk a relative into coming over with you? It could be a good trip for the both of you. April is a fair piece away, so plenty of time to work on an adventuresome parent, uncle, cousin, etc....

I like your little Orlando Clipper. It and the SeaHorse would be right at home on the river and at the grass flats at the mouth of the river. Lots of easy fishing with shrimp, jigs, plugs, etc...

I would favor an East Coast location next year..maybe Intercoastal with offshore access. New Smyrna, Melbourne, Titusville?

But maybe one of us that is going through Orlando would be willing to pick you up and give you a ride to and from?

I know how passionate you are and it's hard being younger than us old guys...
I hope it can work out, would like to see you make it..

I tell you what..I will probably go a day or 2 before the gathering and maybe a day or so after...Heck, I would be willing to run over to Orlando to grab you, and your boat if shes ready..

J Dickenson state Park is nice, but there are no motels nearby. Certainly none that are cheap.

Hey coolguy, a bus would be a cheap way to get out to Crystal Isle. I also can give Ya room to camp. We get two camping sites side by side.I'll even bring you your own tent and sleeping bag to use and feed Ya if Ya need it.

This thread was started to put all the options in one post and not have 10 pages to read thru and for us to look at and discuss. I put it together, went thru the 10 pages and put some short notes with each place to help with the discussion. TD moved it here when he got back from the keys for the rest of the group to see.
