The trailer is what makes it easy or a nightmare to load, a good set of guides make it real easy, I often load my 20 foot pontoon boat with a 20 mph cross wind by my self on the first try. In 75 plus loads I have only had to back out one time for a second try.

Has anyone used or seen in action the contraption that lets you load your boat by yourself? Its called, "rope-a-boat", and built by: qualitymarkinc.com. There are a couple of videos on the site that are very interesting. I'd like to know if it is indeed a quality item for someone who doesn't always have another person to help.

After looking at the video, etc . . . I'm just trying to think of who would need help with a boat of that size . . .

I wonder how much it costs ??? :noidea:

. . . probably not worth it IMHO, unless there were some handicap or other physical limitation involved. I wonder if medical insurance would pay for that sort of thing?

loading and unloading is easy, i hate the part where i have to beach it tie it to a tree or root, run get the trailer backed in, run back to the boat shove off, circle a couple times to rinse the keel from beaching in the mud, drive onto the trailer, toss bow line over hitch post to hold it, then i jump off and wind it in now a self fetching tow rig, that would be the must have

I think the device is cool. With lake an river levels so low I find it difficult to get my boat backed in deep enough for an easy launch. Having several shoulder surgeries I think this would be a lot of help to someone like me.

I think it's cool too, but even as cheesy as the winch & rope appears, it looks "over-engineered" (if that makes sense)...

I've launched & trailered every boat I've ever owned my myself-- well, except the SkipperLiner, but the only reason I can't is because I don't have my own semi. Yet. Our Chap is a piece o' cake, the trailer fits it like a glove, and once I get the bow up to the stop, it stays put. I just climb over the bow onto the trailer, connect the hook and about a 1/2 turn of the winch tightens 'er up. Step onto the tailgate, get in the truck and go. That gizmo, even if all beefed up, wouldn't help me much anyway...

I DO need a nice big winch for the houseboat trailer, but that's a whole nuther story...

I was just thinking the same thing while reading all the posts.

Just need to rig a remote control set up for the Tow rig.

I can picture using a RC type unit to have to TR pull away from the ramp and then back the trailer down the ramp and load. Use that nice ladder shown in the vid and drive off to the loaded lane.

Either that or someone needs to set up a valet parking business.
