Has anyone made their own rear trailer guides out of PVC pipe? I just looked at them on a website and they are like $70 but no good pics of them up close. Just curious if anyone has done this project.
Thanks

Yes. Cost me about $6.
My trailer has metal guides and I slid 5 or 6 feet of 1.5" diameter PVC pipe on the metal ones. The goal was to make the guides longer than the metal ones so it would not scratch the sides.

I dont have any guides at all so I am trying to figure out how to make the bottom parts that attach to the boat.

Search this forum for trailer guide-ons to see several options. I used floor flanges bolted to the trailer frame and common pipe available at box stores for the uprights, then dropped some PVC uprights over those.

Something like this? Made w/ available materials I had on hand. Had to buy 10' of 2" PVC.

I have a small (14') boat and used beam clamps and conduit clamps to clamp the PVC to the trailer frame. I put tee's in the guides about 2' up and mounted my trailer lights there. Now I don't worry about dunking the lights in saltwater.

Of course these guides-ons don't roll, but they work fine for my purpose.

I used 1.5" angle steel and cut one section of it to bend upward and the slipped the PVC over it. The only problem I had was I had to grind down about 1/8" off the angle to fit inside the PVC. The angle made it easy to bolt to the trailer.
