Seloc vs Clymer Maunuals

Is it worth having both? I have the Clymer and dont think it is very good got the Seloc as a gift... is it worth keep or just return it and get something else? Thanks Guys

Have worked with both on a volvo/penta. Guess they are ok in a pinch but they try to cover to many models. Cant really tell one from the other. Have the factory manual for my merc 50 and it is great. More model spefic. I would recommend the factory book. regards fred

I have a Clymer manual and the Merc factory manual. The factory manual is the best, hands down, no question, and if I only had one, that would be it. Now, that said, there are some cases where the Clymer has some useful information or a simpler way to do something (without "special tool number XX-xxxxx") and sometimes has different pictures. For me, any extra information is good. But watch out--sometimes they are wrong!

If it is for a motor 2-5 years old or more, try e-bay. There are a lot of OEM's there from time to time and you can get a good price.
