If this is an old one, go ahead and delete it. But it was sure good for a laugh.

Last summer, down on Lake Isabella, located in the high desert, an hour east of Bakersfield, CA, some folks, new to boating, were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get their brand new 22 foot boat going. It was very sluggish in almost every maneuver, no matter how much power they applied. After about an hour of trying to make it go, they putted into a nearby marina, thinking someone there may be able to tell them what was wrong. A thorough topside check revealed everything in perfect working condition The engine ran fine, the out-drive went up and down, and the propeller was the correct size and pitch. So, one of the marina guys jumped in the water to check underneath. He came up choking on water, he was laughing so hard.
NOW REMEMBER...THIS IS TRUE.
Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer!

That one has been around as long as people have tried to sell the Brooklyn bridge.

While that one may be fiction, I believe there are some actual real stories that have been posted here where something similar occurred.

Re: Sent to me...

I'm going to do this just so the story can be true.

I'll take pictures and everything.

It'll be a story about how I launched, fired up the kicker and fished. Then went to motor back and found the boat didn't work right.

You dont need to try it. Get Bill dance Bloopers and whatever, I cant remember what version. I have it and he launched his boat, the hitch pin came undone and he end up floating with the trailer straped to the boat. Then for kickers he drove the boat to the ramp where the launching truck so the guys could get it attached.

I've seen the Bill Dance video and it is funny, but it has to be faked, or at least some of the crew were pulling a practical joke on him. Why else would you launch a boat with the tongue jack down at the perfect height and have the safety chains undone?

I agree there is something else going on, that trailer would have not make it that far. But still, it proved the myth. Next week on Bill Dance Myth Buster! ;)

This one has been posted a lot here. There are even photos on some of them and a video somewhere I think.
