serial number mercury 1986

were is the freeze plug on a 1986 mercury motor, 60 hp,,,,, need the serial number.....number must be behind something cause i can't see it .......have a 50 hp mercury and it stands out like a sore thumb....

Should be on the transom bracket.

white tag is on the transom is not readable......need to find the serial number on freeze plug.....does anyone know were the freeze plugs are on a 1986 mercury 60 hp.......i have a 50 hp and u take the cover off and it sticks out like a sore thumb

Nope, Whats wrong with your motor this forum can fix any motor problem, you just have to ask for morethan a serial #.
I bet its a dirty/plugged carb clean it like the you tube videos maybe old gas,but carbs run on old gas.

Mr. Tom - You assume too much. Maybe Bearcreek needs an impeller.

You say it is a 1986 .... According to mastertech marine a 1986 60 hp has a serial number range of A197392 -B110788.....
