Okay heres my issue with my 1972 mercury 1150 i had it two days ago and it ran fine, today put the boat in went to start it which it did and ran for about 3 mins or so then quit and wouldnt restart. i took the plug out and checked to see if they all have spark which they do also did a compression check finally #1 cyl= 135psi #2 cyl=135psi #3 cyl=135 #4 cyl=145psi #5 cyl=135psi and #6 cyl=135psi.. so i know the compression is good. i also checked the fuel pump to see if its getting fuel which is found out the hard way still have the taste in my mouth dont ask how. started looking at the timing belt and noticed it was real loose (is it suppose to be) and thought maybe it jumped timing so i took some pics and need someone to tell me if its correct or way off. theres two notches that you can see lined up and the TDC is way off to the left of it. im on my way to get a timing gun but was just wondering if these are the two notches that you have to line up for timing please help me i really wanna go fishing its a nice day
