This really could go anywhere but I do have a Pentagon setup. i may adjust the idle mixture on the albe sat morning sometime. don't really feel that i got it like it needs to be at beginning of season. it looks like the absolute best way is with a vacuum but this carb does not have vacuum ports as it is the marine version. their instructions say do it based on rpms. i was going to look for a digital or more precise analog one instead of using the one on the dash. plus not having it in front is a pain. any suggestions on one or the process in general. i am fairly inexperienced. i understand the goal of the process just don't have the trained ear yet.

Don't need a tach or anything but a screwdriver or a fancy Snap-On carb tool.
The plugs, pull them and check the burn on ALL of them.
Your motor has 2 banks and it's possible to have plugs burning different on the different sides.
If the plugs have ANY carbon build up at all replace them ALL!
Then you can start the process.
The motor needs to be warm.
Turn the air screws in slowly.Remember how many turns it takes to bottom them out.(That's the default. You can always return them there).
Then turn them back to the default.
One at a time, turn the screw in till it starts to stutter buck or drop the rpm's.
Then back out 1/2 turn.
Do the other side the same way.
Some carbs are preset and can't be adjusted??
