Hi

Have some time again. Have replaced the transom on my boat project and have a 200 HP Johnson waiting.

Need some advice, next thing is to drill and replace the drain plugs. With some epoxy? How about screw together drains?? Or buy the brass ones and a tool to flare them?

Next the motor-- want to center it on a manual jack plate so I'll have some better vertical adjustment chances later on- how to I mount the motor to start with? IE the ?? cav plate(not good with terms but its the thing with the dole fin on it) even with the bottom of the boat like my john boats?

After that I would prefer 2 batteries, one for electronics, and one for the motor. A way to have a fuse ??? block in the back for the downriggers and bilge pumps. And a single big cable to the center console for everything up there. And a switch to allow the electronics battery to start the motor if that battery dies, and able to totally kill the battery system during non use(IE no shorts or wild motor starts etc....)

I'm putting the fuel tank back in and its poly, making some kind of epoxy bridge around the fuel sender as the old owner said he had issues with water in the fuel at times coming through that as the tank slightly bowed in right there. New fuel fill line. New fuel line to the motor.

Need more or any input/advice as to what I'm after and best places to call to buy on the net(here I'm assuming, but I need good advice over the phone as to what to buy)

I'll be getting to the console setup later, where I need to know about the VHF and depth finder I bought last fall.

Thanks for any input.

In the meantime I have gelcoating places to do, and trailer bunk replacements etc... to keep me busy.

Jeff
