Hi everyone,

I have a 1991 hurricane FD 226, that call for an outboard with a 20 inch shaft.. What problems would arise if I used a 25 inch?? I just bought my first boat this year and it has a 120 force on it, but is rated for a 200.. I am wanting to repower next year to a 150 or 175, and am finding a lot more 25 in motors than 20's..
Thanks

Re: shaft length question

The anti-ventilation plate needs to stay about level with the bottom of the boat. That's the plate above the propeller!
Good Luck! Have A Great day!
