shaft size

I was wondering how do i tell what shaft size my motor is . i am looking at replacing it do to lack of avail parts my model # is 1258x6a also what do i need to look for when i am looking for a replacement as far as cable hook ups and such any help will be appreciated

The measurement for the leg, starts from where the transom brackets hook over the transom, and measure down to the antiventilation plate
