Howdy,

Newbe to the group, so I hope I did this right.
I'm looking for a Welded Aluminum Fish and Ski with a Walk thru Windshield. I've found several good ones, but they are all Deep V's. Is there a shallow or modified V out there somewhere? 17' or 18', 90 to 115 HP and a total towing weight under 2300 lbs?

Thanks,
Elchucko

I've seen shallow and modified V's in fishing boats. All the fish-n-ski's I've seen are deep V. that is not to say they aren't out there. I believe far more exists in the world than what i have had to opportunity to witness personally. ;)

Can't say as I've seen one, but it might be a fun project to convert one. One word of caution from a mod v fish and ski owner, they ride pretty rough if the water isn't like glass. Good luck with the search and let us know what you find.

Welcome aboard Chucko. If your budget isn't too tight you could might get someone like SeaArkhttp://seaark.com/ to accomodate you. They are not the only company making top quality welded hulls, but unlike the others they've dabbled in the recreational boat market and might have the equipment and knowledge to hook you up. As DuckHunter said, just be aware that your ride quality will not be good in rough water, so unless you have a compelling reason for wanting the semi-V (need to run shallow, etc.) you might want to consider the true V.

Ok, you guy's (and many others too) have convinced me that a Mod. V will be a rough ride.
So, it's either a Deep V or Shallow V. I love the Fiberglass Fish and Ski design with the low sides and shallow V. I just don't understand why no one builds one out of Aluminum. Thanks Incoop, I'll check out SeaArk.

My 1979 16' Starcraft SS has an open bow, and is a shallow V hull design. The stern is a V shape but fairly flat.

The Starcraft Jet and Jet Star models have a even more shallow V, but are not open bow models.
