I only shave my neck and cheeks, and I only do that once or twice a week.

A can of Foamy lasts me about 2 years.

But if I used as much foam as the ads and commercials seem to suggest (see the pictures) I would need a new can every couple of months.

Does anyone use that much? Am I some sort of freak?

I shave mostly in the shower too,but got me one of those no fog mirrors to hang off the shower head we discussed some months ago.I use to just shave like JB for many years till most of the beard came in gray.Soon as it's all gray,I'll probably grow it back.Gets sorta itchy for a while though.Kids never saw me without one until they were in their teens. They both had a look on their face I'll never forget when I shaved it off.I kinda looked funny at myself for a spell.

A can of shaving cream last me until the can is rusty.Sometimes the can label even changes between cans. Tried some of that aluminum can gel stuff once ,but it's too much like work to get it to lather. :D

I have one of those "no-fog" mirrors for the shower. Mine doesn't work well any more and fogs up, but I have a trick. Get a little soap on your hands and put it on the mirror, then damp your hand and wipe it partially clean so you don't see small soap bubbles. For some reason, the mirror won't fog when there is a very thin translucent film of soap on it.

Wash it off after use.

I typically use soap on my face when shaving after the beard has softened up a bit. Sometimes I'll use some of my wife's fancy shave gel. Like JB, it doesn't take much to lather up my whole face.

Re: Shaving foam ads.

I'm in a goatee stage right now ( the most shaving I've ever done) and so far in my 47 years of life I have bought 2 cans plus a travel can of foam.
