Re: Shed construction Begins. Progress. Update 6 6-10-06

I was just curious if the snow fall was heavy?

A friend of mine {upstate NY} build a building and ran the overhangs{ends} the same as yours, BOY is he sorry now. They sag terrible he had to do some major reinforcing. If you don't get much snowfall then you'll probably never see a problem. Don't take this as a picking I just noticed and wondered. I hate to see folks put alot of time into a great looking bulding and then a couple years later have major rework to do.

Finally took the camera out when it was daylight.

Shed is sided, gutters on, soffit done.

Electric is ran temporary until we build the deck conecting the house to the shed, then the electric will be ran in conduit attached to the underside.

We needed the space right away, so we've been working in it as we try to finish up the inside, insulating the ceiling as we find time....

My dad loves to build these. He will do it for free, you buy the supplies. I've helped too, they frame up fast and look nice when complete. I learned all the technical jargon about home contruction from helping my dad with these.

CN Spots....

No, that was the truck loaded with stuff that I didn't want getting wet, storm was headed our way so I tarped it.

It's getting a bit more organized, every day we get another shelf or bin built that can hold our stuff. having to work in something as you build it is a bit anoying.

Noel, women never seem to understand the necessity of storage space. When we built our house my wife didn't understand (and still questions, although she is starting to see the merits of) why we built 2,000 sq feet of living space and 2,000 sq ft of garage, storage, and porch. Hey, she has her 2,000 square feet and I have mine!

Noel, if you want the land cleared for a new 4000+ sq ft shed..... start a rumor that Hoffa was buried there! :D
