California charges $15 for two years and the trailer plates are cheap as well and their good for five years.<br /><br />It's a good deal unless you own a home and then the city charges you some type of property tax on the value of your boat. The taxes are several hundred a year for a newer boat.

I'm with Copesitter, but it is the state who charges you property tax, not the city. The honkin' mofos actually walk the streets looking for boats to add to the property tax rolls. I had a boat stored at my BIL's years ago. I got a property tax bill that noted the location as his address. There is no other way they could have that addy if they didn't walk the steets . . . <br /><br />BTW, there is a slick AZ deal that allows out of state owners to register there. Also, if you really work it, you can buy a boat in another state and not pay sales tax if immediately registered in AZ. AZ does not charge sales tax on boat sales between private parties . . . ;)

20 bucks for the 21' boat and nothing for the trailer, not even trailer tags.

Way too fu***ng much! <br /><br />When I bought the boat it was $25 for two years, now it's $3 per foot, plus I think $5 or $10 "just for fun".<br /><br />What really makes me mad is the idiots at the Oregon state marine board haven't been bothered enough yet to send me new stickers in time for boating season, I always get them around December. My stickers still say 00, and I've never been stopped using them even though I have all the correct paperowork on board.

I paid $11.oo for 3 years for my 1956 larson It was a fixer up all the wood rotted. That is how I found this site wanting to know what kind of paint to use.<br />It took 1 1/2 years to fix her up and she runs great. I have a original 1965 evinrude 7 1/2 horse power engine I put around the lake on.

40 for the boat, 40 for each trailer (I have 3 trailers of which one is the boats) 50 for each car and truck (3 of them too), 35 for each ATV (yup times 2) plus an additional 40 for each ATV to be legal to ride the trails. $460 a year to drive and have toys!

$12 a year for the trailer and about 24 dollars for 3 years of boat registration.<br />IF you use the trailer only beween july and december you pay less.<br />The trailer must have a safety inspection once a year, another 12 dollars.

Re: Sheer curiosity, what do you all pay for boat reg fees?

Il is different for different sizes. Mine was $42 for my 21' in 2004, but that's for 3 years. I think that price doubled though. It was only $21 for three years when I got the boat in 2001. NOt sure about the trailer, mine is licensed in FL, $28/year. I was told by the state that my railer would be the same as my car, $78/yr, but others have told me that's not true.

Our game and fish dept handles the boat reg, and the state DOT handles the trailer.

15' boat---30.00 for 2 years, Trailer 38.00 per year. The tags is what kills me. Tahts why I have 3 trailers and one set of tags. Heck, I can only pull 1 trailer at a time.

My 16' boat was $46 in 2004 and its good until 2007. About $10 a year for the trailers because I let them expire for the winter.
