Re: shelterlogic

I have the 12'x26'. It does the job.
I put it up last May and it kept the Las Vegas sun off it all season long.
BUT it did take a tole on it. Around Nov or so, I noticed that on top of the rigids of the frame, the material was starting to rip. So I emailed the company and told them about the problem and asked them about the warranty. They said the warranty for the fabric is 12 months. So I emailed them pic's of the cover and they said they would replace it. Just had to pay $18 for shipping. Just put the new cover on last week.
I also asked them how much just to buy the top cover if needed. They said $119. I figure cheap insurance if I have to buy one every year to keep the sun off the boat.
All in all, good company, good product, good customer service.
Imho.

One heavy wet snowfall of 6" followed by rain and the steel structure failed.:(
Perhaps the shelters with a rounded top last longer, I won't buy another.
I'll build a "car" (boat) "port" next time out of lumber.

I went this route and although it lasted for a couple of years, it required constant work to keep the snow off of it. For about 1400 bucks you can buy and have installed a full metal carport. I had one installed 3 years ago and it's still like new. No issues with heavy snow load and thus far zero manitenance.

Re: shelterlogic

Snow load will shorten it's life. Does nothing to stop humidity moisture, so I still leave the car out and put the boat in the garage during the winter months. Plus I can work on the boat during the off months in a warm environment.
Make sure you have it well bolted to the ground. I had my 1st one in the summer, and my neighbor took position of it on the first fall wind storm. They are also somewhat noisy in the wind. Like a sail slapping.
My first choice would be a stick built garage with some heat. Second would be aluminum, and third would be canvas cover. Just my 2 cent. Good Luck.
