Re: She's home!

I really need to remove both engines and redo the stringers and lower transom

Should I keep this thead alive through the process or start new ones? Thanks

MK

don't do part of a transom, replace the whole thing. you can have one of the mods move this to the restoration if you like, or start a new thread there if you like. cool boat:encouragement:

Nice boat, Although I dont think Merc or any other marine motor, ever used HEI's. At least I never seen them. To be sure there marine saftey rated, there should be a hole 3/8 to 1/2 diameter in the very bottom of the dist housing, with a brass screen over the hole. This is so if any fuel vapor gets trapped inside, it will fall out, fuel vapor is heavier then air. Just a thought, you might want to be sure of.

several reasons for tabs. level the boat, get the boat on plane quicker, keep the boat on plane at a lower speed, level the boat at speed, or even the possibility of dropping them all the way down as trolling brakes

Like matt said. I use mine constantly, primarily to level the boat side-to-side underway. V-hulls lean into the wind and tabs correct that beautifully.

Yeah, that is one nice-looking boat. Best of luck!
