Shift cable replacement or ???

Mercruiser I/O 470 Pre-Alpha Outdrive<br />I am in the process of replacing all bellows, if I can ever get the nuts loose on the pivot pins. <br /><br />My exixting shift cable has nut on boat side of bell housing. Should I change the shift cable <br />out to the newer style that has nut on bell housing drive side? Do I have any options?<br />Thanks in advance for help.

Never mind. After hassling with the nut on the back side, I decided to never repeat that process, so cut cable and removed it. Now I know my options. Have seen replacement cable at mercstuff..anyone with experience with this product and its quality (GLM part)?
