Hi All,

I picked up a 17 foot boat with the 3.0 Mercruiser about a month ago from a dealer. On the first test run, it stalled when we went from forward to neutural. First they tried to adjust the cable, shift interlock, no good, same results. They replaced the cable and now it runs about 98%. I used the boat over the past 4 days and never had it stall coming out of Forward, however on several (3-4) times it stalled coming out of Reverse to Neatural.

Is this acceptable? Do all I/O's sometimes get the shift interlock hung up or will this just get worse becuase its still not adjusted right?

Also, how many people get water in the boat? Not a huge amount, maybe a half a gallon a day. We were not waterskiing, just crusing around.

Thanks

Howdy,

1. No it's not acceptable. It's NOT adjusted right...... (and it's not rocket surgery either)

2. It should NOT leak at all.....EVER! You need to pull the drive and determine if the leak is via the bellows or shift cable gimbal bearing etc.

Cheers,

Rick
