Shift Cable

I am going to have ago at replacing shift cable this weekend,I have got the manual and not stopped reading it.

In with the new cable there is a black plastic like grommet does this go in from inside the engine or outside.

Also the shift cable bellows comes with one hose clamp (large end)and one crimp clamp (small end)why can't I use a hose clamp like the other end, I don't have a crimp tool.

Also where about on the cable do I secure the small end of the bellows can't see in manual.

Last question anyone got any tips or advice that would make it more easier

The plastic grommet goes in from the inside. I didn't bother replacing mine.

I also didn't bother with the crimp clamp, I used 2 zip ties.

The manual gives the measurement for the bellows. I placed the bellhousing in the 'trimmed down' position, and set the bellows nearly compressed.

If you have an extra set of hands, I found it easiest to start the bellows (pain getting it over the brass end - use soapy water), then feed the cable sheath through the bellhousing. Have your helper guide it through on the engine side. When you start threading the cable into place, your helper will have to assist the cable to turn with you.
I found it much easier than feeding the cable through the bellows, screwing it in, then trying to get it through the bellhousing without kinking it up.
