can somebody help me locate where the shift cable hooks up to on a 85 4cly mercruiser . If you have any pics of that engine all wired that would help to, thanks

Ayuh,... Could you be abit more Specfic, there were a couple of 'em in 85...

Look for a manual. not the best but there are pix there of the engine that you can see harness and cable locations.

This is where a few pictures at disassembly come in real handy.

There are 2 shift cables and one throttle cable that hook to the block.
