I have a 1978 Century 23' cuddy 350 mercruiser 260 hp. The control is single handle it is a chrome rounded box that sits on the slant of the dash. I'm wanting to replace it how do you determine if the after market models are compatible with cables and nuetral safety switch.

It all depends on the type ends on the cables. There are so many different controls out there that look similar and take different end that all would be a guess at best. Pull the control box and look at the ends of the cable, also the other end of the cable. Then compare them to the site below.<br /><br /> Teleflex
