Yes captain Sir, you are right.

looks as if I have the same problem with marine
literature as the rest of the world with computer literature, that I always find peanuts to follow.

Problem for me is that this manual is THICK, I had just 3 weeks to read it AND I have to translate it into another language.

And sometimes, you just get desperate. e.x to the Seloc manual, the PTT manual release valve should be on starboard, mine is on port.

Or am I again on a wrong chapter ??? or looking from the wrong side onto my boat. :)

And as you saw on my last post (shift in forward) I afterall found the right chapter, just wanted to make sure.

(And how can a captian get confused ;)

No need to look it up. It's mechanical. Electrics were around in the 60s and the hydroelectric was in the late 60's to early 70s. They've been mechanical on all models ever since.

Thank you guy, don't tell my wife I was right :)
What a relief, I knew which side was starboard.

That still makes the Seloc wrong as they are talking avout 2 cylinders an with the PTT and still say teh valve is starboard.

So I thing I'm a little bit excused if I doubted the
shift etc. chapters and asked which one I have :)

Thanks for your help again.

I would have not been able to get the engine this far without this forum.

hello
unless the hanging chads are dimminishing my vision your 91 90 should still have the manual release on the stbd side. but no telling anymore. post your engine model number.
dont sweat the small details and its all small short of dying :) :) .

Left/Port....four letters each.

Starboard/Right.....not a match.

Ya' know, you should break down and get a OEM service manual for that engine. Would save you a lot of time in figuring out what's what in that generic manual. Check the sites below.

http://www.marineengine.com/manuals/evinrude/order_pre-1980.html

http://ww3.kencook.com/evinrudejohnsonmanuals/

Give it some thought boats. :)

Yep. Port side. That's the manual release. You have the newer two cylinder diesign. rodbolt was thinking three cylinder like I was.
