I have a quick question. I have a 280DA with 4.3 Mpi I used to have alpha drives and recently switched them with bravo 3 drives. Is there a way I can bypass the shift interrupter and how do I do it?

The boat is a 2007 so I’m guessing engine are the same year. The serial number I don’t have right now. So the problem I’m having is that when I swapped the drives I left the interrupter plugged and took it of the shift linkage plate thinking I could just bypass it like that. But now smart-craft is putting my engines in guardian mode saying engine overspeed.

With the over speed coming up you could also have a misadjusted Gear Indicator switch making the engine think you're in neutral gear trying to go over 3500 RPM.
See item numbers 18 & 20, https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassembly/31504/12839/290

Because of the change, You'll need to buy and install item # 27 where the shift interrupt switch plugs into the engine wiring harness,
Item # 27864337A1CONNECTOR, Black, Bravo Shift Interrupt JumperACT

That’s awesome thanks for the fast response hopefully now I can make it work. With out having to buy a bravo ECM, they are crazy expensive. Is there a reason why it dose it only when is in the water not out the water. Like when I’m on the hose everything works and I can go above 3,500 rpm only did it for a few seconds since I’m on the hose but not alarm nothing everything smooth. I guess when there’s a load is different. I just like understanding things and knowing how they work. Thanks
