Hi So at wits end and looking for help! I have a 96 j25tkledc it the 3cyl model. Anyways while trolling it died completely I eventually replaced the power pack which got it going immediately but when it quit I noticed it was extremely hot. I figure the heat likely helped to fry the power pack so I investigated removed the thermostat and noticed that it was not pumping water to top of engine at an idle it would when revved up. So replaced water pump and thermostat at the same time got rid of the oil tank and the engine runs and pumps water great in a tank now but.... can't get the shifting right it appears I must of messed it up getting the lower end off. I have reverse in both reverse and neutral position and neutral in forward. I have tried to adjust at the shift linkage but no luck. Does the actual rod thread up and down? Does if thread up and down in the lower end(gear case)? If so how do you do this as the nut at the bottom just spin on the rod. Could I use vise script directly on the rod?
Thanks for any help advice
