I have a 100 hp 1995 Johnson and I am replacing the impeller. I remove all bolts on the drive, but when i pull it down it gets hung up about an inch down, obviously the shift linkage. I was wondering how you disengage the linkage to drop the drive down the rest of the way.

Thanks

Re: Shift Linkage Question

Look under the carbs. Follow the shift linkage across to where the shift rod attaches, that's where you disconnect it.

Re: Shift Linkage Question

Disconnect the shift cable from the engine's shift linkage arm. Now, Follow the engine's shift linkage arm down to where it enters the intake manifold housing.... you'll see a retaining clip that goes thru the shift linkage arm.... remove it (don't lose it).

You will now be able to push the shift linkage arm in, towards the other side. This will cause the retaining pin to slide out of the lower unit's shift rod.

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay auction at:
