I want to replace water pump but can not any bolt that is suppose to hold shift linkage to shift rod. The shift linkage looks like a 2 prong fork with the notched end of the shift rod between the forks, but I see no bolt. Can someone help.

under the carb should be a connection like this. Remove the bolt. A swivel socket will help get to it.

What year is your motor? I tried looking at 115el77s and cannot find it in a model number search. Do you have a different model number?

Does your shift linkage look like this? If so, Disconnect the shift cable (Green arrow), pull the clip out (Yellow arrow), then push in and twist the shift arm (Red arrow).

On reinstallation, I use a straightened clothes hanger, with a small hook bent in the end, to help line up the top of the shift rod.shifter1.JPG

Thanks to everyone for your help. I had to remove the shift linkage bolt then spread the linkage apart so the pin came out of the shift rod. In fact I removed the shift cables and choke selinoid to gain access. Now to the marina for the water pump kit. The numbers are correct. I took them from the plate on the engine mount.
Thank You again for all your responses.
