I hope someone can help me with this. You have been so good helping me on other problems. I have an old 1975 sea ray and am installing all the bellows. I am trying to replace the shift shaft bellows. I disconnected everything in the engine compartment that needed to be taken off. I am trying to pull the shift shaft cable and the cable covering out of the bell housing but it wont come out. the only thing at the end of the shift cable is the bell crank with the allen screw and stainless wire. On the back side of the bell housing where the shift shaft cable and outer covering there is what looks like a nut threaded into the bell housing. Looks like a half inch or 9/16 nut that is holding the outer shift shaft cable in place. This is an old outdrive. I think it is pre alpha. Serial # 4187305. Is there a special socket I need and is this what is keeping me from pulling the cable out? any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Bill
