I need to replace the water pump on a 1977 6hp Evinrude. I have a Seloc manual, but its not clear to me if the the shift shaft is disconnected through a window on the leg or if you drop the LU a couple of inches to get at it. I bought the impeller kit here at iboats, but the pump housing wasn't for sale. Should I try to find one or just use the old one? I've done this job on a 50hp and above, but never on a little motor like this one, so any advice on this particular engine would be much appreciated.
