what does a shift switch do? on my V8 shifting is hard. could it have gone bad? checking the easy stuff before i drop the L/U to check the shift rod there.....james
The shift switch kills 3 cylinders in a V6, I guess 4 on a V8 outboard, when shifting out of farward/reverse to neutral. When the cylinders are killed, the pressure on the gears is released, and the shift dog is disengaged.
