Re: shifting omc cobra
If you take a look-see there is the attaching point where the control box shift cable connects to the rest of the shift linkage. At this location is the intermediate shift cable attaching point and if you look closely, the interupter switch. It has a little arm with a roller and is located in next to what is called the "V block" or the piece that "rocks" back and forth in either direction as the shift cable goes from nuetral into forward or into reverse. As this happens, the arm/roller of the shift switch is activated by the "V block' and "scatters" the ignition via the shift module. So, if you run the engine but move the "v block" by hand, it should activate the switch which activates the shift module which causes the engine to stumble. If it doesn't stumble then the switch can be bad, the module can be bad or ?????????And there are newer adjustments (and simplier) that need to also be addressed!!
