Shimming lowet to upper older white DP-C1

Shimming lowet to upper old DP-C1. Reading manual in confusing and converting mm to inches makes mistakes easy. Upper unit race grove .317. Lower rac heighth .298. ..317-298=.019. I have 2 shims added together=.015. So now I have .004 gap I think. What do I need in both mm and then inches for ordering purposes. Make it simple in layman terms.

You need .006" (.15mm) more shims. Or a total of .021" (.53mm) shim pack. This will give you a .002" bearing preload.

I have one shim .005. Volvo Penta offers only .005, .010, .015. Is .005 close enough?

Volvo sells them in mm, not inches, and the sizes for your drive are shown in the picture below. If you get a .20mm and a .35mm shim, you should be perfect.
