Shop Manual ???

1981 90 HP Johnson. I've bought one of those generic manuals and it leaves a lot to be desired. The only shop manual I could find for my engine was $90. Since I'm kind of cheap (well, very cheap), would a shop manual for a 1987 90 HP be close enough? (I found one for about $40).

Try a search on the web (marineengine.com has them), and find the best price for an OEM manual. Get the correct one for your model number, for best results.

I bought an OEM manual for my Johnny and a Clymer for my Merc. Unfortunately, they are of about the same quality. My Johnny OEM manual has some obvious errors and had about 35 duplicated pages inserted in a random spot, that I clipped together so as not to confuse myself.
